Come out and FLY with the Kingman Golden Eagles this Saturday!

Golden Eagles Aux. Field #1 will be open on Saturday 3/31
from 9 AM to 11 AM.

Come out and fly with us… Get your Membership Card and Gate Key! Check out the latest improvements to the field (we are not NEAR to being finished… but be ready to fly from the hard-packed runway and marvel at all we’ve got done!)

The Golden Eagles RC Club “construction crew” has been working like mad men for weeks… and they’ve got a lot done!

  • Perimeter fencing is in place.
  • Access road graded.
  • Gate hung (from the correct post this time).
  • Field graded and the infield weeds cleared away.
  • Runway has absorbed two watertruck-loads and has been rolled hard and flat.
  • Gophers seem to have been dealt with!
  • Pilot-barrier fencing is installed.
  • Windsock pole to be erected tomorrow.
  • Geotextile Runway material has arrived in Kingman… we just need to do a little more prep before we can have it delivered to the field, unroll it into place, and start stapling it down!
That’s Paul Smith with Jon Wilson (on the roller) and Ben Poole (with the water truck).
That’s Jon going back and forth… and Ben’s dad in the CAT.
Montana Bob (with shovel), one of the hard-working teammates who was out there for every work day! That’s Paul Smith with his tractor and punching holes to create a new fire-can.
Larry Barber, Paul Smith, Montana Bob and Jon Wilson. Bob got in a little flying, too!
The usual suspects along with David Duke and Charlie Moses.
Shawn Lavery brought a flag-pole and shares has thoughts with Jon.
David, Larry, MT Bob, Jon, Paul, and Charlie about to call it a day as they complete the pilot-barrier fence… and then Eric showed-up to get in a flight or two!

We will be “OPEN” at 9 AM. Come out and fly! Bring chairs and bottled water… and your airplane, of course! Also… be ready to deal with a lot of loose dust. We do not have flight stands yet, as of today, 3/28… (but there may be one there by Saturday!)

Golden Eagles RC Club MEMBERSHIP CARDS will be distributed to those Eagles who attend this fly-in. (… not to worry, we’ll mail it to you if you cannot make it out there on Saturday.)

Remember: Safety First! We are flying from bare dirt. Keep clear of propeller/dust/dirt/ pebbles that may be tossed into your face! Maybe, before starting your motor, put a sheet of cardboard under your plane to reduce that mess. ASK FOR ASSISTANCE from a fellow pilot… someone needs to hold your plane while you start the motor and adjust your needle-valve; it’s hard to hold your plane, hold your transmitter, hold your starter, and deal with engine adjustments all by yourself. Ask for help!

Watch for the little signs that will be posted, Saturday AM, to help you find the field!

Drive out Andy Devine/Route 66 to the Airport stop-light. Turn left (west), away from the airport. Take the first wide dirt road to the right (for Saturday’s event, a sign will be posted showing where to turn.) Stay on the dirt road, following the signs… about a mile and a half.

See you there!
