President’s Message Sept Oct 2018
Apologies to all. 2 very active months since my last message so this is rather lengthy. PLEASE, read it through to recognize what we as a Club have achieved in only 10 months.
Yes, with a cool, breezy (8+mph) day threatening rain, the site is likely vacant….. but remove the rain threat and the facility becomes active! The number of people visiting the airfield to fly, watch, visit, and provide maintenance is steadily increasing. The nicer the flying conditions, the more the activity. Some days, 50%+ of our members pass through. As Golden Eagles members, individually and combined, each in your own way, we have built an outstanding, community oriented, AMA Charter Club. Thank You.
Some members fly a couple times a month – others only weekends – week days – afternoons, etc., and then, only if weather permits which condenses our time together for greeting, meeting, and air sports. A very broad use pattern, however, when the majority come together as happened this past weekend our airfield is like a carnival. Always something happening; something to share, something to learn, something to laugh at, personal updates, and something to enjoy!! Thank you.
Demo flights continue to grow in volume and we always have student pilots. Members created and are fueling a strong and energetic social, flying club. We have built an organization where all are welcome, without regard to individual levels of ability or participation. You, the monthly, weekly, daily, and, non flyers are why the Golden Eagles are unique, successful, and growing in community popularity. Thank You.
Golden Eagle members are flying – sport, scale, 3D, prop planes, jets, sailplanes, drones, FPV planes and drones, and don’t forget the mini Mustang pylon sprints several times a week! Wide ranges of individual interests, abilities, availabilities – coupled with diversity in preferred genres encourages sub groupings. The level of pilot skill, the preferred flying genre, personal objectives in the hobby, frequency of participation, personal health, and employment are a few groupings successful clubs build into their value system. You have done so, Thank you.
We, the Golden Eagles, created an environment of collaboration and social interaction. We opened the Win Win neighborhood as a fly site receiving appreciation from the near residents. We, built our Auxiliary fly site. We, assisted the County desert police(E.R.A.C.E.). We embraced a neighbor AMA club as friends and equals. We, created Kingman’s only “open membership” model aviation club and the community is beginning to appreciate our values. Thank you.
Golden Eagles planes and drones range widely in retail price. $25 to thousands of dollars and yet there is equal respect, courtesy, flight time, and appreciation for all. Thank you.
November 26th will begin Golden Eagles year 2. As our programs grow and mature there is no doubt that 2019 will be a huge year for our Club. Watching the multiple programs develop is fun but even more fun if you are participating. Supporting members contribute equal to flying members. Every club wide call for assistance has brought nearly 100% of membership to the task or purpose. Thank You.
On behalf of myself and all Club Officers, Thank you to everyone for every assignment fulfilled, every dollar or product donated, every ounce of labor, and, the extraordinary results. It has been our honor representing the Kingman Golden Eagles in our community. Thank you.
