Saturday, January 6th 2018, in Kingman, AZ was a bit cooler than the previous week… but NOTHING compared to the terrible cold on the East Coast… like 3 degrees out there! … I believe we topped-out at 61, today.
It’s fun to fly RC on Saturday… We RETIRED guys can fly almost anytime the weather permits… but those members who have REAL JOBS are not free to fly until the weekends. Good to see those guys out there on a Saturday!
A dozen Golden Eagles flyers and friends were out at the field. Plenty of pilot-training going on, as well as some nice fun-flying in the breezie conditions. As the wind came up, I was out there flying my 3-channel Kadet Senior in the thick of it! … That model is like a nitro-powered kite when the wind is blowing… simply “fun” to fly.
The Golden Eagles RC Club is all about the people… and all about flying RC aircraft. Today we had models of several types… even a quad-copter drone.
We had three models in the air, together, several times, today. … Like a “bad-habit” I am trying to kick, it seems we get used to flying with only one pilot in the air at a time… being patient and taking turns… but there are SIX pilot stations… and, speaking for my self… I am trying to break that old habit; I fly when I wish and am learning to fly when other pilots are up, as well. THE EXCEPTION is when I see Ben firing up his HUGE planes… when he goes up, I land ASAP. (That thing would eat my little Kadet for lunch!)… I always enjoy watching Ben fly those planes… always an awesome show!
I am completely in LOVE with the photos of Colton! That smile and his AMA card display are fantastic!!
